I’m closing all applications for freelance jobs for the rest of 2008 while I work on my personal projects including launching a new portfolio and completing my Degree in Multimedia Communication Design in a couple of months. Projects that are already underway or that have been proposed and agreed upon will be completed this year, however no more requests for new jobs will be accepted.

This website has been near inactive for the last month - I know! I’ve been burried under with work and have had to neglect my personal site as a result. Rest assured, the last month has not gone to waste. I have picked up a couple of new clients, and been keeping a list of all the little bugs throughout the site.

Anyone that has visited the site regularly and or recently may have noticed that the design was changing slightly every now and then. I was never 100% happy with the feeling of 3.1, so I have decided to go for a darker, grungier appearance. This brings the site up to version 3.2, with the same colour scheme as 3.1 but using black as the primary colour rather than the off-tone white.

That’s right! I spent most of today rebuilding the code of the site and editing the CSS tags to get this site to work in IE. The amazing fact is, that in the end it was only 11 additional lines of CSS required to get it to work (26 lines when each attribute is returned). I did have to make a few adjustments to the actually template (especially the footer) but not once did I have to resort to using tables thankfully. Of course, there are a few little bugs here and there that I would like to adjust over time, but as far as functionality goes the site is 100% IE compliant. What a load off my shoulders that is.

Apologies for the recent downtime, my web-host was giving me the worst service I’ve ever experienced. My site was down for almost 5 days straight and I sent 20 emails, 8 tickets and made 8 phone calls to them and from all of that they did nothing. There was some problem connecting the site to the database which they kept telling me was fixed, then the site would go down again within an hour. Such a joke…
